about

War carried out by those in power, who do not have to personally suffer the immediate consequences, is the theme here. There are references to recent conflict, but the lyrics are intended as a general statement.

”Sound And Fury,” is taken from a line in Macbeth, which originally concludes, “Signifying Nothing,” stating that grand acts without purpose are essentially meaningless. The song expands upon this, saying that when the purpose is unjust, these actions rebound and come home to enact revenge, even on those not directly responsible. The final three lines state that future generations will pass judgement on those involved.

lyrics

You Engrave Your Own Fossil
When The Blood You Push
Sprays Back In Your Face

Watch It Flow Through Your Fingers

The Sound And Fury Arrive
Tracing The Signature
Pray You've Struck Deep Enough
That You're Beyond Haunting

The Self Prophets Have Foretold Their Success
Yet Upon Your Heads These Men Will Rain Fire

Men, Open Wide Your Arms
And Receive Your Blessings
From The Children
