This was the final track to be composed. Listening to the album in the summer of 2007, something was felt to be missing in the flow of the song sequence. A second metal influenced track was always intended to be included, but just never came about. Now the perfect place was found and so the screechy, chaotic companion to Avalanche Of Fire’s weighty, rhythmic lumbering was created.

The lyrics deal with the ever present problem of unchecked power. They could apply equally to any organisation, but here it is specific to the institution of democracy. Those with power are able to influence the rules for governing themselves and thus a cycle of stagnation churns away. The final four lines refer to a demand for increased transparency and accountability on the behalf of citizens. This has always been present, but has started to gain exponential ground thanks to the Internet, which is increasing people’s effectiveness in researching, communicating and organising, regardless of geography.

To enervate is to weaken or destroy the vigour of something. There is actually no such word as ‘re-enervate’, the title is just made up to describe re-applying this to the previous enervation.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that this is the only song on the album to maintain a traditional percussion kit throughout. The Suicide Of Giants often becomes noisy mangling, Verify Me uses unconventional sources, Let Us Help You doesn’t maintain anything at all and Avalanche Of Fire’s drums are so enmeshed with its mass that they are almost inaudible.
