about

Before the album proper was embarked upon, there was a short period of creating demo material. Essentially, this was undertaken to ease back into composing after several years of producing no music. Then in mid 2003, the first sections of what would become Sojourn emerged and clearly demonstrated that Achenar had something serious to offer from this point forward. As the other songs were forming around it, Sojourn took its place as the dramatic centrepiece, incorporating many elements of the whole album into one song. It was also one of the last songs to be completely finished, over four years after it first began to take shape.

The word Sojourn means a temporary stay. This is intended to refer to the nature of the album, where each song is completely different from another. It also refers to the future, where no two Achenar releases will be quite alike.
